Thank you all for participating in the trade jam! We’re glad to have you! We had 73 artists and 22 writers for this trade jam which is an amazing turn out!
I hope you are all still excited about participating!
Step 1:
Look for your icon and number on this list to find your partner! Once you know who your partner is please contact them right away through a note!
What do you say in the note?
Just say hello! Introduce yourself and tell that person that you are their partner for the trade jam! Be very sure to tell your partner right away what you are comfortable making and what you aren’t comfortable making. Be sure to visit your partner’s gallery to check out what types of art they do! If they don’t have anything there, than be sure to ask them about what they are comfortable making! Be thorough. It’s very easy to make mistakes and create misunderstandings on the internet so be direct, be nice, and don’t be vague.
Step 2:
Discuss! Talk with your partner about what you want them to make for you and ask them about what you can make for them. Art trades are meant to give both parties more experience and to have fun. So don’t ask for anything that is too difficult to do. We want to keep this exchange fun and friendly! Make sure that you only accept a request from your partner if you are sure you can do it! Also be sure to set a time line for when the trade will get done! Don’t be late! We recommend no later than a month from today!
*Note: Artists, if you want a picture draw be sure to link your partner to some references so they know what the thing looks like.
**Note: Writers: Please be sure to be detailed about what it is you want written. Give as much information as possible so the other writer knows what it is you want made.
Step 3:
Get to work! Once you know what your partner wants and you have told them what you want, you both can get creative and begin making the trade! Have fun, and be kind. You may be paired with someone whose art style you don’t really like. That’s okay. Don’t be rude to any person, and don’t reject what they have to offer. The whole purpose of the trade to gain experience, have fun, and possibly a new friend! So be kind, not critical.
Step 4:
When you are done with your art or writing contact your partner and give them a link to what you created for them! Don’t pester your partner; give them time, even if you finish first. If your partner decided not to do the trade, please don’t be discouraged, just remember to have fun and try your best to follow through with the trade. If you feel a conflict is beginning between you and your partner, than please cease contact with them politely, or try to resolve the issues peacefully. Fights and conflicts are never fun.
If all goes well you are welcome to join our trading group Art-n-Fiction-Trades to receive updates on future trade jams as well as meet other people looking for trades! Everyone is welcome. ^_^

Trade Jam and 1000 point Giveaway!
Please go to this journal for more information!

Sadly, I couldn't submit this journal to other giveaway groups if the journal was written by a group. So I made the journal on my page, and added a link to it above. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Open Question to all Members? Trade Jam is a go!
I'm going to be opening positions and taking numbers for the Trade Jam, very soon. (Probably tomorrow or the day after.)
However, I was wondering if I should have a giveaway to promote new members to join. I have 1000 points, and I would give them all away to one lucky person who favorites the journal for the Trade Jam. They aren't obligated to join the jam, just favorite the journal. Anyone who comments saying they want to join the Jam will be given a number to join. I wanted to ask the members if you think this was a good idea or if you think this won't do much good?
If you are on board with this, than I would defiantly appreciate any he
Thank you new members!
This is a thank you message to all of our new members! We have reached a small milestone of 10 members, beside myself, and I feel we have enough members to being discussing what we should do to celebrate!
I have several ideas, but I would like to receive feedback from our members on what events you all might like to participate in.
Here is a brief list of concepts:
Icon Contest:
The icon for our group #Art-n-Fiction-Trades (https://www.deviantart.com/art-n-fiction-trades) is pretty lame. I think our members and possible other potential new members can do a better job! Holding a contest will encourage new members to join, as well as help us improve the image for our group!
